We are looking for volunteers to help us cover the front desk by answering phones and taking messages, greeting neighbors & assisting with other simple administrative tasks.
Amazing volunteers like you are needed to help with our events set ups, registrations, supervise different activities/games stations, etc.Get involved, have a positive impact in your community!!
Volunteers are needed to assist with our special events. Duties include registration, set up, clean up, conseccions stand, orleading activities.
Frequency:
Volunteers with a friendly and positive personality are needed to help greet individuals arriving at the center and assist with phone calls and providing program information. Volunteer will also help front desk staff with managing traffic and answering phones.
Fab Lab
Students in East Aldine''s Fab Lab come to BakerRipley to learn computer skills for jobs and education. The Front Desk Volunteers have a vital role in helping BakerRipley students with the machines and tools they are familiar with, doing tours, cleaning up areas, and answering general questions. What will this achieve? They will be available to help cover our open community hours. The duties of the Front Desk Volunteers are also to act as support for the Fab Lab. What will I need to do? Check voicemails and return phone calls as needed, to provide information. Greet and answer general questions. Give tours of the different areas. Train and be proficient in the center''s specialized software & equipment. Set up for workshops, clean and restock areas after use. What''s required of me to be successful in this role? 1. Cultural Sensitivity and Mutual Respect: Ability to interact professionally with students of diverse backgrounds, developing a rapport with students as the primary drivers of their own learning and success. 2. Good Interpersonal & Communication skills: Willing to work with students in a personal, one on one setting. 3. Willing to troubleshoot, unafraid of failure, adaptable to change and a curious mind open to learning new tools and thinking creatively. Where would I be volunteering? BakerRipley East Aldine What is the time commitment? To get you started, we will provide training in our program structure, menu of software, equipment and the main communication tools. The training will take about 2 hours and will be arranged with one of our team members. Depending on the length of the commitment, there will be continuous team support and training along the way, as needed. A minimum of 4 hours a week Assisting for morning Community Hours Mon-Friday, Shifts between 10-12pm, 2-6pm Saturdays for occasional community events Who would be my supervisor? BakerRipley Pasadena Campus
Volunteers to assist with food fair client registration and food distributions. Registration volunteers will review and assist families to assure all information is complete. Food distribution volunteers assist with setting-up tables, unloading pallets, and distribution of food/produce. Volunteers will also assist with clean up.
